Reflections on high tech events

Recently we had the pleasure to be involved with our business associates from Poland, MK Business Link Sp. z o.o. and South Africa, Catalyze in the dynamic ecosystem of two big trade fairs, both high tech oriented. One was the GITEX GLOBAL Largest Tech & Startup Show in the World , which is obviously right now the biggest tech show in the world, and Expand North Star , a super connector event for global start ups and investors. Both amazingly organized by the DWTC Exhibitions - ICT Cluster , one of the leading organizers of events in the United Arab Emirates and in the whole region.

As a stakeholder in the shows, from the vendor side, along with the view of them as a visitor below are some thoughts I made following the present and the future of the high tech expos which are reflected as:

• Attendees expected and will be expecting more and more hands-on experiences and interactive displays, leveraging technologies such as AI and IoT to create immersive environments.
• High tech expos will increasingly focus on eco-friendly practices, using sustainable materials and minimizing waste, reflecting the global push for environmental responsibility.
• Implementations of various types of hybrid formats,  with the rise of Virtual and Augmented reality approaches, many fairs will blend physical and digital experience, allowing participants to engage from anywhere in the world.
• Networking platforms and parallel events within the main events, will facilitate connections between attendees, exhibitors, speakers most probably using more and more AI to suggest relevant contacts.
• Emerging technologies such as innovations in areas like blockchain, 5G, quantum computing etc will definitely play a significant role in shaping the discussions and content in this type of events.
• Advances in data analytics already allow and will allow even more in the future, exhibitors to tailor experiences and content to individual preferences, enhancing more the engagement.

The general feeling I got is that those events will transform even more into more dynamic, engaging and inclusive experiences that will reflect broader societal and tech advances.

P.S it was worth all the traffic jam but at the same time I was very happy to hear that Flying Taxis will take off in Dubai in the first Quarter of 2026!
